Before spouses in Viking days, the bride do consider a bath to cleanse herself and spiritually scrub ahead her maidenhood. Then she would jump into chilly water to depict the transition into femininity. Her hair was moreover a big deal. She would weave it into complicated locks to reflect her sexuality, and the more sophisticated her locks were, the better it boded for the pair. The brides would utilize a tunic and shorts made of wool or cloth. They do even have their weapons.

In Norse lifestyle, it was common for couples to take each of their customers home with gifts. This is a tradition that carries on today. It is common to see a gift registry at Swedish marriages, but it’s not the norm to get huge economic efforts, as most people can afford to get themselves a present.

After the festival, it’s time to observe! Swedish celebrations are known for their extended, sophisticated dining functions. The hour may contain from eight to 12 speeches, checks of clips from the bachelor and bachelorette parties, games and songs. A friend of the couple is usually designated master of ceremonies to coordinate all the entertainment.

Another quirky Scandinavian wedding tradition is that whenever the groom or bride leaves a room for any reason, other men will line up to kiss them. This is one of our favorite things to capture on camera as a photographer because it’s so funny!
